PEI PNP held a new draw under the Labour Impact and Express Entry stream

On April 4, 2024, Prince Edward Island conducted a new invitation round in the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams and invited 66 candidates under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

This draw invited candidates working in the Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Early Childhood Education sectors.

This year, the province invited 511 candidates, including 506 under the Labour Impact and Express Entry categories and five business candidates. According to the schedule, the next PEI PNP draw will occur on April 18, 2024.

 Canada held a new Express Entry draw for Francophone candidates

On March 26, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw for French language proficiency candidates.

In round #291, IRCC issued 1,500 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to francophone candidates. The cut-off score of this draw was 388 points, 52 points more than the previous draw for this category, held on February 29, 2024.

The tie-breaking rule for this round was March 10, 2024, at 20:06:26 UTC. As of March 24, 2024, there were 211,962 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool.

Canada issued 26,695 ITAs through the Express Entry draws this year, including 11,000 for French language proficiency candidates.

BC continues inviting skilled candidates and tech professionals

On March 26, 2024, the Government of British Columbia held new invitation draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and issued invitations to apply to qualified candidates in tech, healthcare, childcare, construction, and veterinary care occupations.

In the tech draw, the province invited 47 candidates. The minimum score for candidates invited in this draw was 114 points. BC issued 28 ITAs to candidates under the childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202).

In the Healthcare-targeted draw, British Columbia invited 30 candidates who scored 85 points. The province also issued 21 invitations to candidates working in the construction sector.

Furthermore, up to five invitations have been issued to candidates working in veterinary care occupations. British Columbia issued up to 131 ITAs in the 12th draw of 2024. This year, the province has already invited up to 2,500 candidates.

Manitoba held the 24th MPNP draw for Ukrainian candidates

On March 26, 2024, the Government of Manitoba held the 24th draw for Ukrainian candidates. In this draw, the province invited 179 candidates through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

To be eligible, applicants must be Ukrainian citizens, have a minimum of CLB 4 in each language band, have connections to the province (close relative, community ties, previous employment, or studies in Manitoba), and score at least 60 points in the EOI registration points-grid, and possess a valid language test in one of the official languages.

The province invited 1,535 candidates in 2024, including 451 Ukrainian nationals.
