Canadian universities saw a spike in the number of enrolments in Nursing programs
Nurses are in high demand in the country. Canadian educational institutions cannot train students fast enough to fill the available jobs in the healthcare system.
The nursing shortage provides opportunities for immigrants to look for well-paid jobs. Canadian universities, on the other hand, face a huge amount of increase in the number of students.
The University of British Columbia saw a spike of 31 percent in enrolments to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and interest in the graduate nursing programs doubled.
Students also increasingly apply to the nursing programs in Ontario too, were nursing schools saw a 17.5-percent increase in nursing applications.
In 2018, Jobbank Canada had already forecasted a shortage of 36,500 nurses before the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Federal Government is working on a plan for the return of international tourists
The Federal Government is working on a phased plan to welcome back international visitors and tourists as pandemic restrictions loosen.
Canada restricted the movement of non-essential travellers for more than a year, even banning direct flights from countries like India and the UK when variants of COVID-19 raised concerns.
According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, anyone entering Canada would need to be fully vaccinated before arriving, as the country cannot risk another wave of COVID-19 that would be devastating to businesses.

Canada’s first phase to easing border measures are not applicable for travellers who are not fully vaccinated
On June 21, 2021, the Government of Canada announced the details of the first phase of its approach to easing border measures for travelers beginning July 5.
However, these measures are not applicable for travelers who are not fully vaccinated.
Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prioritize the health and safety of Canadians, thus unvaccinated air travelers will have to adhere to the current testing and federal
quarantine requirements and provide COVID-19-related information electronically through ArriveCAN and book a three-night stay at a government-authorized hotel before entering Canada.
